St. Paul's Summit Avenue is an impressive and beautiful boulevard that stretches four-and-a-half miles from Kellogg Avenue near the Cathedral of Saint Paul to the Mississippi River. The entire length of Summit Avenue is encompassed by two National Historic Districts and two City of St. Paul Heritage Preservation Districts. The homes on Summit date from 1858 to the present and represent most styles of residential architecture found in America including Beaux Arts, bungalow, Georgian Revival, Italian Villa, prairie, Queen Anne, ranch, Romanesque, Second Empire, Spanish colonial, and Tudor villa.
